Wilderness Park is located in Prattville, Alabama. The park, 26-acre in size, hosts giant oriental bamboo which soar 60 feet to form a canopy in the sky. The bamboo competes with native trees and shrubs to form this most unusual area, which also contains the State’s second largest Beech tree. The area was used by the U.S. military for Vietnam-era combat training since the forest provided a humid environment with vegetation more similar to that found in Southeast Asia.
