The Nature Conservancy has been working in Alabama for more than 28 years to conserve lands and water on which all life depends. With over 59000 acres in Alabama alone, their vision is “a world where the diversity of life thrives and people act to conserve nature for its own sake and its ability to fulfill our needs and enrich our lives.” As of 2018, the Nature Conservancy has eight preserves in northern Alabama, six in central Alabama and seven in southern Alabama. Each preserve has its own unique set of available activities. Their website contains detailed information on each park including what to see and what to do. Please visit their site for park rules, trails, and other activities.
