Lake Guntersville State Park is a state park located in northeast Alabama, just outside Guntersville in Marshall County. The park overlooks the 69,000 acre Guntersville Lake, and contains 6,000 acres of natural woodlands. It includes a resort inn, restaurant and convention complex on the pinnacle of Taylor Mountain, lake view cottages and a campground on the lake. The park also has an 18-hole championship golf course, hiking trails, fishing center, beach complex, and a day-use area. One of the main attractions at the park soars high above all the others. Thanks to conservation efforts Alabama’s nesting bald eagle population is increasing, and Guntersville has become a focal point of Eagle Awareness in the state. Feeling the heat of summer? Cool off in Guntersville Lake at the beach or in the modern camping area along side. Ready for a hike? There are several miles of hiking and biking trail available throughout the park.
